The Bently Heritage Estate Distillery is an adaptive re-use of several historic buildings and nine acres of the surrounding site in downtown Minden, Nevada. The distillery incorporates grains grown on the Bently Ranch and botanicals grown within Nevada’s Carson Valley. Earning LEED Gold certification, the project sets a new standard for sustainable production not only in the state of Nevada, but also in the world.

The Minden Flour Company, built in 1906, is on the National Register of Historic Places.  The Mill building houses the production of Single Malt Whiskey and includes tasting rooms, event spaces and retail.  The Minden Creamery building from 1916 houses grain processing and distilling equipment for other spirits. Extensive coordination with Nevada’s State Historic Preservation Office and National Parks Service ensured that the project strikes a balance between preserving the historic building fabric while providing sensitive and complementary modern interventions.
