This artist’s studio is a small (800 SF) building occupying a portion of a residential lot in San Jose. The goal of the project was to provide a fully functioning living quarters and working artist's studio that blends the interior and exterior environments, breaking down the traditional boundaries between the two.  

The house and surrounding landscape have been designed to create a variety of open and private spaces.  A wide range of spatial, material, textural and light conditions are achieved from a minimum of means.  Materials are kept to a limited palette of stucco, glass and wood.
